Virtual Winter Break Financial Services Networking Trek

The Financial Economics Institute, Robert Day Scholars Program and the Soll Center for Student Opportunity are jointly hosting a Winter Break Networking Trek for Financial Services. Please apply through Handshake. To apply, you must be in your sophomore or junior year (first years may be considered as well). This networking trek is only available to students at CMC.

The trek will take place from Sunday afternoon, January 10 to Friday, January 15, 2021 and will be conducted virtually. During this trek, our visits will be focused on meeting with organizations and representatives in financial services in New York*. Last year, students met with KKR, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Moelis, D. E. Shaw, Rothschild, and Atalaya, to name a few. This is an excellent opportunity to explore a variety of career paths and make valuable connections with professionals in financial services.

Feedback from Raizel Yu ’23, about her experience on the financial services networking trek: “The NY Networking Trek was pivotal for me as it led me directly to the area I wanted to focus on recruiting for so that I could have the best possible outcomes. I experienced a great deal, including networking effectively through coffee chats and follow-up conversations, building relationships with firms I vibed with, and learning distinctions and specific firms within finance that helped me out of the murkiness of not understanding investment banking vs. asset management vs. hedge funds vs. private equity. I would highly recommend any Sophomore remotely interested in a career in finance to apply and make the most of this wonderful opportunity.”

Applications are due October 30, 2020 at 12:00 PM PST.
