About Us

Mission
Our mission is to connect and empower career-driven women through a community of collaboration, mentorship, and professional development. We aim to expand opportunities for women in all aspects of the business world, such as entrepreneurial ventures, finance, consulting, data science, and more.
Claremont Women in Business (CWIB) strives to cultivate a community-driven culture focused on personal and professional growth, through networking opportunities, hands-on training, and social events and retreats. Our members graduate with lifelong friends, a network of committed alumni, and professional skills to excel in business careers.
What We Do
Claremont Women in Business (CWIB) houses four divisions to equip our members with the resources and real world experience to become business leaders in a wide range of industries. Our members operate initiatives such as Claremont Apparel (Claremont McKenna's student-run apparel brand), draft legal documents, audit financial statements, and build relationships with corporate partners, among many other activities.
Since founding, CWIB has partnered with Goldman Sachs, Parthenon-EY, Accenture, FTI Consulting, Deloitte, Soll Center for Student Opportunity, the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and many other firms and
on-campus organizations to offer mentorship opportunities, host office visits , and present dozens of workshops and networking events.

Our History
Claremont Women in Business (CWIB) was founded at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) in April 2016 by Jahnavi Kocha. Beginning as a group of 14 CMC students with 2 events per semester, CWIB has expanded to a 5C organization and operates with over 250 members and 20% of CMC's student body.
Our members include women and men from a variety of diverse backgrounds, who create a community that extends beyond college. Our alumni graduate into careers in finance, tech, consulting, and many other industries, and often return to host partnered-events and offer advice and insights to current members.
